Our Client, a global Telecommunications company, is currently looking for Sales Engineer to become part of their team in Hamburg, to help them designing and delivering innovative solutions in the network and voice fields for the clients. As Sales Engineer, you actively work within a highly specialised sales & engineering team, to successfully generate, design and close sales opportunities.
Key Accountabilities:
- Act as the customer’s technical consultant, allowing a review of the existing services and leading to a new, reengineered solution to improve the performance of the network, allowing cost savings and easier management for the client.
- Liaise between the customer and the Engineering, Design, Delivery and Operations departments to ensure that the need of the clients are properly understood and delivered accordingly.
- Partner with the sales team to recommend the most appropriate solution to the customer.
- Assists Engineers and Solution Architects in building complex proposals on different levels.
- Manage the cost of the different elements that build the solution to ensure it best fits the customer’s requirements and is most cost effective.
- Document the final Solution design to a level of detail and rigour that enables all relevant technologies and services to be identified for internal approval.
- Use your influence, your knowledge and your experience to assess and advise on possible improvements of pre-sales processes.
- Identify and quantify the associated gaps and risks including mitigation plans in conjunction with sales supporting entities whenever appropriate.
What you will need to succeed:
- Experience in a technical environment like IP&Transmission Engineering, technical assistance center, configuration support.
- Experience in designing and selling services as fibre, copper, DSL transmission services, Ethernet and IP private networks, accesses to the Internet, resiliency and security services, TDM voice, VoIP, IP Telephony, Intelligent Numbers, IVR.
- Experience with service oriented roles.
- Technical understanding of managed networking (protocol stack, IP addressing, routing protocols, Transmission (SDH, EoSDH, MSP, DWDM, Ethernet), MPLS, VPNs, interfaces and standards), access technologies (Ethernet, MSP,ULL FTTH, xDSL, GCR), Internet Access (IP Access, Smart Office, IAS), Voice (IN/IVR, V oIP Access, TDM/IP), High Speed Services, Dark Fiber
- Customer Service background or customer oriented experiences and excellent communications skills, written, verbal, presentational, and interpersonal.
- Result-oriented approach, flexibility, willingness to take initiative, ability to work effectively and in a very organized way under pressure and meet multiple deadlines, problem-solving attitude, attention to detail, methodical and thorough approach to work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications or related field.
- Certifications in one of the areas of expertise: Cisco CCNP, CCNA, CCVP, Avaya UC or CC sales and design certification, Microsoft Exchange & Lync, ITIL, …
